SUMMARY:Unix command line fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:The Linux command line\, also known as the terminal or shell\,
is a powerful tool that allows you to control your computer directly with
text commands. While it might seem intimidating or strange at first\, Linux
offers a lot of flexibility and efficiency once you have acquired the
skill.\n\nIn addition\, High Performance Computing (HPC) systems are
powerful tools used for complex calculations and data analysis\, and often
controlled by Unix command lines.\n\nParticipants will get started with the
basics in this workshop and learn to navigate through folders and view
files. You will need a Windows\, Mac\, or Linux computer to participate.
Students can borrow a laptop through the library Tech Lending program. If
you need assistance to fully participate in this workshop\, or have an
accessibility request\, please contact the instructor Michelle Zhai in
 advance at zhai@iastate.edu.
