Monday Monologues | Selections from BABA, a New Musical Workshop
IN THE GRANT WOOD FOYER, FIRST FLOOR
Directed by Cason Murphy, ISU Department of Music & Theatre
Hear selected songs from BABA, a new musical being workshopped and developed at ISU Theatre. BABA is a contemporary, climate-centric musical retelling of Russia’s Baba Yaga fairytale that takes place in familiar-yet-mythic woods of rural America. Weaving together the traditional fairy tale with enchanting Americana folk music and issues of the current climate crisis, this musical poses the question to everyone: How far will we go when our own forest is under threat?
Full-length performances will take place in Fisher Theater on April 7,8 at 9 at 7:30pm and on April 10 at 2pm. See the ISU Music and Theatre website for details.
