Exploring data for environmental justice

Exploring data for environmental justice Online

This workshop will introduce and explore environmental justice – the right to a safe and clean environment – through case studies and data. Participants will explore how culture, power, privilege, and bias affect data and our current understanding of the environment and its impact on human populations. This is a beginner level, tech-lite workshop that will use discussion and existing data to critically examine both the limits and power of data as it applies to environmental justice topics.

No prior experience needed. Participants should use a computer or tablet to attend this online event in order to best use interactive web applications.
If you need assistance to fully participate in this workshop, or have an accessibility request, please contact the instructor in advance (mno@iastate.edu).
